Since August of 1986, he has been living in the parish house in Maloy. Built by master luthier John Zeidler in the mid 1980's, The Ax is a headless electric that is truly one-of-a kind. Solid figured maple body, multi-ply binding (a Zeidler trademark), set maple neck with ebony fingerboard, custom hardware (except for the original Kahler tremolo tailpiece), finer tuners.

Following pages are from the internet archive Jul 17, 2015 - Zeidler Carrara, 1984. John Zeidler of Philadelphia was one of 21 luthiers asked to contribute to Scott Chinery's Blue Guitar collection in 1998. John made this one in 1984 for his friend John McGann, who took it to Winfield in 1995 and won the National Mandolin Championship. John toured with the Kevein Burke's Celtic Fiddle Festival and played this one. I would suspect it is true as John has been fighting his illness for quite some time and it recently got much worse. He was in the hospital in Texas and the luthier community was rallying to donate blood for treatment.
